Spring curriculum (Loudoun Robotics)

Twelve weekly sessions on LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3. Continues from Fall.

1. Week 1 (Feb 3): From ring to field

   Mission mat vs sumo — precision over force.

2. Week 2 (Feb 10): Squaring up

   Wall reset so drift does not compound.

3. Week 3 (Feb 17): Gyro on port 2

   Turns by angle, not guesswork.

4. Week 4 (Feb 24): Follow the line

   Color sensor path following.

5. Week 5 (Mar 3): Smooth line follow

   Proportional control — no zig-zag.

6. Week 6 (Mar 10): Mechanisms

   Levers, lifts, rack-and-pinion.

7. Week 7 (Mar 17): Build an attachment

   Mission-specific design and trade-offs.

8. Week 8 (Mar 31): My Blocks

   Named routines; readable programs.

9. Week 9 (Apr 7): Variables

   Count, distance, duration — decide what to do.

10. Week 10 (Apr 14): Strategy

    Mission order and what to skip on the clock.

11. Week 11 (Apr 21): Reliability runs

    Ten runs — fix the cause, not luck.

12. Week 12 (Apr 28): Mission showcase

    Family showcase; reliability and design awards.
