PTO-funded programs designed to challenge, inspire, and connect students beyond the standard curriculum.
Hands-on robotics for grades 6-8: mechanisms, sensors, coding, and the engineering design process. Students work in teams of three with robots and laptops provided (LEGO SPIKE Prime / compatible systems). Fall focuses on foundations and coding mechanics, building toward a family showcase: about 12 weekly evening sessions (~60 minutes).
Competition-minded math enrichment for MATHCOUNTS and AMC 8. Open to all grades 6-8. Comfort with pre-algebra helps; prior competition experience is not required. Planned as a 12-week fall series (September-December), once weekly evening, 60-75 minutes. Preferred evenings Tuesday-Thursday in a 6:00-7:45 PM window; target class size about 15-30.
Young Entrepreneurs I covers startup fundamentals for middle schoolers: social presence, branding, and founding business basics. Once weekly evening sessions at Stone Hill; exploring curriculum support with Young Entrepreneur Academy (YEA!). Spring Part II ("Stingray Tank") covers pitches and capital raising as a separate series.

SHMS Back to School Night is Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Families follow a shortened version of their student's schedule and meet teachers in person. More school details to follow from SHMS.
